Okeover Arm Provincial Park, is located near Lund
BC on the top portion of the Sunshine Coast. The park
is on the Malaspina Peninsula covering over 4 hectares with no
real trial system to explore but does have beach access, camping.
The beach is mostly rock with little sand. The park is highly
used by many canoeing, kayaking and scuba diving enthusiasts as
a launching point to access Desolation
Sound Provincial Marine Park.
Part of the Okeover Arm Campsite and the day
use area is situated on the traditional Sliammon
First Nations archeological site. The site was designed and
developed to enhance the education of the Sliammon history and
to protect the large shell midden which is the main feature of
the site. The park has signs throughout explaining the story and
impact the area had on its local culture.
The camping sites are mostly seasonal drive-in sites totalling 14. There are no sani dumps at this location.The 4 tent only sites are on a first-come, first-served basis. operating all year. The park does have pit toilets and a cold water hand pump located at the north end of the campground at the edge of the parking lot. No shower stalls onsite.
The picnic/day-use area is close to the campground. But does not have picnic tables. The park has a comfortable small grassy area with a bench and a view of Okeover Arm and Lancelot Inlet.
Access to Okeover Arm Provincial Park: Follow Hwy #101 from Powell River, approximately 19 km north of Powell River. Located 9 km west of Lund BC following Malaspina Road.
