In the pioneer days of the Sunshine Coast all travel was by boat or canoe. The coastline waterways were once the highways to the Union Steamships in the early goings delivering supplies to the remote villages lining the Sunshine Coast.
Today, the region offers some of the best boating destinations and is still best discovered by navigating a pleasure boat, yacht or sailboat along the coastline of the Sunshine Coast. Whether you are a certified skipper or taking part in a tour with a guide, there are so many opportunities while boating to discover the many Sunshine Coast hidden bays, secluded coves, numerous islets and islands.
The coastline is well mapped with many marinas located along the popular marine routes throughout coast supplying today's captains and deckhands moorage, showers, fuel, warm coffee, supplies, food and entertainment.
Each boating destination has something different to offer with most delivering scenic highlights like thundering waterfalls, sandy beaches, looming rock cliffs or remote islands.
